About this place
At Kusumoto, unaju stands out for its soft, fluffy eel—and for the small side dishes and soup that round out the meal. Several diners have described the Edo-style eel, which is steamed before grilling, as tender and fluffy. Some also enjoyed it with liver soup, steamed egg custard and small side dishes. The menu lists unadon at ¥1,500, unaju at ¥2,100 and ¥2,500, and special unaju at ¥4,000, making it possible to choose according to how much eel you want and what you plan to spend.
At lunchtime, set meals beyond eel are also on offer. The sashimi set costs ¥1,100; one diner reported receiving seared bonito, sea bream and yellowtail, along with a small side dish. An eel omelette set is ¥1,100, while set meals with simmered fish or tempura are in the same price range.
Whether you’re in the mood to make eel the focus or would rather have a set meal at lunch, this is a place where you can plan your meal around what you feel like eating.
